What ages can participate?
Programs are designed for school-age cohorts and adapted to the age band the partner selects. Session content, language, and reflection formats are adjusted for age-appropriateness.
How many students can join?
A typical founding program runs with a single cohort of roughly 20–30 participants. Cohort size is agreed during program design based on facilities, staffing, and safeguarding ratios.
Does the school need its own football coach?
No. Delivery responsibilities are agreed in advance. Some partners use their own coaching staff with Academy79 program support; others ask Academy79 to arrange approved local coaching.
Can the program operate after school?
Yes. The program is commonly delivered as after-school enrichment, but it can also support physical education, athletics, or intersession programming.
Can Academy79 work with beginners?
Yes. Sessions are built around progression, so learners with no prior football experience can participate alongside more experienced players.
How is progress documented?
Through goals, coach observations, learner reflections, participation records, and milestones captured in the 79 Passport, plus an end-of-program organizational summary.
How are families involved?
Guardians receive program orientation, periodic progress updates where appropriate, and an invitation to the final showcase.
What technology is required?
A standard internet connection and a device for coaches or program staff. Participants are not required to own personal devices.
How is student data protected?
Academy79 is designing its program and technology around child safety, guardian awareness, data minimization, controlled access, and responsible use. Final data terms are agreed in the partnership documentation.
What safeguarding standards are required?
Safeguarding requirements are confirmed during readiness, including background checks, supervision ratios, consent, and emergency and medical procedures, in line with the partner's own policies and local requirements.
Can a sponsor fund the program?
Yes. Sponsored cohorts are supported, with sponsor recognition agreed in writing and no participant data shared with sponsors.
Can the program expand after the first cohort?
Expansion is a decision made after the review stage, based on the program summary, stakeholder feedback, and the partner's objectives.
Is the learning layer a separate program?
No. Polymath learning and 79 World are layers inside the same twelve-week cohort. There is one program, one schedule, and one evidence record.
Does the learning layer replace classroom teaching?
No. It complements it by giving students a practical setting to apply thinking, research, communication, and problem-solving.
Does 79 World involve travel?
Not by default. Global learning begins through research, media, comparison, and — where an approved partner cohort exists — digital exchange. In-person experiences are considered only where safeguarding, consent, insurance, and operations are confirmed.
Who delivers the learning sessions?
Academy79 facilitators and coaches, with partner-school staff involved in the way each partnership agrees.
