79 Polymath

Learning that connects, instead of separating.

79 Polymath is the interdisciplinary learning layer inside every Academy79 cohort. Learners investigate real questions through football, science, engineering, psychology, economics, technology, culture, and leadership—then create something that demonstrates understanding.

What learners do

Investigate. Connect. Apply. Create.

Polymath learning is not more homework and not more subjects. It is a repeatable way of thinking.

1

Investigate

Ask a meaningful question and gather reliable information.

2

Connect

Use ideas from more than one discipline.

3

Apply

Test the idea through football, a challenge, an experiment, or a real situation.

4

Create

Produce a project, explanation, prototype, proposal, presentation, or contribution.

Questions learners explore

Real questions, not worksheets.

How does physics change the flight of a football?

How does attention affect decisions under pressure?

How do teams create systems without removing creativity?

How does a football club build a sustainable business?

How does culture influence playing style and communication?

How can technology support development without replacing human judgment?

Eight connected domains

Every domain is anchored in something that happens on the pitch.

Domains are selected and sequenced with the partner organization based on cohort age, curriculum priorities, and available time.

Outcomes depend on participant engagement, delivery context, program duration, and partner implementation. Academy79 does not claim to improve grades, test scores, attendance outside the program, college acceptance, or mental-health outcomes, and does not guarantee athletic selection, scholarships, contracts, or professional opportunities.

Questions

Polymath FAQ

Is Polymath a separate program?

No. Polymath is the learning layer inside the same twelve-week cohort. It is delivered alongside football development, not as a separate purchase.

Does it replace school curriculum?

No. It complements classroom learning by giving students a practical context to apply thinking, research, communication, and problem-solving.

Who facilitates the sessions?

Academy79 facilitators and coaches deliver the sessions, with partner-school staff involved in the way each partnership agrees.

How is understanding demonstrated?

Through created work — projects, prototypes, presentations, data stories, documentaries, or community proposals — plus reflection captured in the 79 Passport.
